Who is Lucas Cavanagh?

Born in Stony Brook, New York and raised in Hauppauge, Iā€™m an aspiring director, screenwriter and editor. From a young age, I developed an ardent passion for filmmaking, which led him to creation of short films such as The Star and the Black Space Around It, Take Me Home and A Cure for Loneliness.

My passion for filmmaking has continued to flourish. I pursued higher education at Ithaca College, where I sought to refine his craft and broaden my knowledge of the art. It was here where I met incredible like-minded collaborators that have helped me create award winning short films. With a laser focus on mastering the technical skills, I have consistently pushed myself beyond the bounds of possibility, experimenting with unique techniques and innovative approaches to filmmaking, paying homage to some of the greats like Yasujiro Ozu and Eric Rohmer.

With my Ithaca College journey nearing its end, I resolved to relocate to Los Angeles, the bustling hub of the film industry, where I will launch my directorial career, working with some of the most innovative and creative minds in the industry.
